A few days ago was International Day of the Girl. Since 2012, 11 October has been marked as a day that aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face, while promoting girls’ empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights.
Being around confident young women and girls always gives me a renewed zest and inspiration to continue the work that I do.
These girls at #rainbowsforbatam as well as the ones I had the opportunity to meet in India are faces of hope, grace, intellect and resilience.
We are the future – of that I am certain, and the important work of education, capacity building and opening of opportunities needs to be done. Doors need to be kept opened by those who have already gone through. For doors that do not exist yet, these need to be built collaboratively, together with ladders, bridges, boats, and whatever other resources are needed for continued progress & success.
I will be working on a new project to level up #rainbowsforbatam , especially for the girls. If you’re interested in the cause and have expertise/passion in capacity building or female empowerment, do leave me a message & we can work together! ❤️
