266. Soaking up the sun.

“As the years pass, I am coming more and more to understand that it is the common, everyday blessings of our common everyday lives for which we should be particularly grateful. They are the things that fill our lives with comfort and our hearts with gladness — just the pure air to breathe and the strength to breath it; just warmth and shelter and home folks; just plain food that gives us strength; the bright sunshine on a cold day; and a cool breeze when the day is warm.”

I saw someone post a picture of Australian uni students enjoying a beautiful day out on the campus lawn and I felt a tinge of yearning. I remembered Manchester.

I remember the days of gorgeous weather – days when I’d pack my things and go out to the little opening at the back of my dorm to lie down and look at the clouds pass by, do some work, or watch some tv shows online.

601110_10151473916917081_706494810_nDays when I’d ditch my books, put on my walking boots and wander around town. Wander without aim nor direction, just at ease to be in the moment and take in all that I could.

Those were the days I remember most.

Days I cannot possibly replicate back home because of how hot and humid Singapore is.

Days which will always remain very dear to me.

It was so good while it lasted.

Lots of love,
