I always have these things in my bag when I’m out exploring: my handphone, my wallet, a bottle of water, my journal, and a book.
Whenever I’m feeling weary from the travelling and the distances my mind has gone to, I’d sit down – sometimes by the river, sometimes under the shade of a tree, often on a random bench – just to journal or read.
Reading, like many other things, gives me great pleasure.
There is magic in the moment of coming across a beautiful quote, the kind that just makes me stop and go, “Wow, that is just… so right”. I’d feel an overwhelming sense of wonder and peace in the realisation that I am not alone – not in the things I am feeling nor going through.
On a beautiful day, under the shade of an orange tree in Sevilla, I read these words:
“… she wants to know if I love her, that’s all anyone wants from anyone else, not love itself but the knowledge that love is there, like new batteries in a flashlight in the emergency kit in the closet.”
That’s just… so right.
Lots of love,
