55. Cosy up

This morning. It was so cold, mashaallah!

It’s only 9.17pm and I’m already feeling tired. *gasp* Nighttime falls early here and dinner’s over by 7.30pm so… I pretty much have the entire night free for the next week or so. The students here are all still having exams so it’s really quiet despite it being a weekend. Hmmm, nevermind! I guess that leaves me more time to blog! πŸ˜›

Anyway, let me show you my room for the next 6 months! πŸ™‚ Alhamdulillah, I’m very lucky in that I got a corner room (with my favourite numbers, remember? πŸ˜› ) so my room is slightly bigger than the others! πŸ™‚ It was extremely bare when I first came here and hey, who’d want to stay in a bare boring room right? I had already planned earlier to decorate my room to feel comfortable and all, so I’d brought along some knick-knacks from Singapore! I’d also bought some stuff from Primark to spice up the space and alhamdulillah, I love my room now!

Meet B, Booboo’s partner. Hehe. Booboo’s in Singapore with the mister now! πŸ˜›

I’m extremely thankful for the washbasin and mirror in the room! Makes life easier. πŸ™‚

I’d decorated the room with the intention to not only make it cosy, but to serve as a reminder of my purpose being here. I wanted it to be my safe place to reflect and motivate myself, to always remember that He is near and I am capable. I translated that into surrounding myself with powerful words and beautiful pictures of people who matter. That way, I am greeted with these reminders every day when I wake up. It’s about as powerful as it can get.

β€œPeople often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.”- Zig Ziglar”

This was definitely on my must-bring list. My bestfriend gave it to me 4 years ago when I went to Canberra and I’d have it with me since. ❀

Another important consideration for me was also colours. I cannot live in a plain room because that’s just… depressing.

Used this crazy shawl to cover the ugly heater. I love it!

I care about colours so much that I went to buy a (cheap) red pillowcase to add more vibrance to the room! The original one given by the uni was white! πŸ˜›

The culture here is to have your neighbours randomly come over and hang out in your room and I’ve got to say, my room is visitor-ready! Hehhh. The challenge now is to keep it neat and tidy. Mum thinks I’ll mess it up very soon but you’ll never know.. . πŸ˜›

So anyway there you have it, that’s my room! ❀
